Meet the Clover Ring

As the Director of Curation at Gemvara, one of the perks of my job is getting to “meet” new products before they go live on the site. With our latest round of product launches one style really stood out to me. It’s one of those rare finds that’s versatile enough that everyone from the boho-trendsetter to the classic-prepster will love it, yet there’s something special about it that makes it anything but boring. So with that said, I wanted to introduce you all to one of my new favorite Gemvara pieces: Clover.

Get to know Clover:

Shape: Round
Size: Center stone options from 5-8mm
Gemstone: Available in 27 natural gemstones
Metal: Available in 9 precious metals
Special Talents: Available in two different shank (band) styles, Available in mixed metals

I was inspired by the recently-announced Pantone color of 2014, Dazzling Blue, when I customized the Split Clover above. I also chose to add a pop of rose gold for the setting, while keeping the ring in my price range with a silver band. How would you style the Clover Ring?

New Summer Arrivals: Gemvara Curator Callie Smith’s Top Summer Looks

Posted by in Blog | No Comments

As the Director of Jewelry Curation, one of the things that I love most about my job is playing on, customizing pieces to create different looks. It’s really cool to see how a different gem/metal combination can transform a piece or how I can take an entire collection and style it with a different color theme and it’s like I’m seeing the pieces for the first time!

Breathing new life into an old favorite by changing up the customization is awesome (I’m a little obsessed with customizing in black & white right now – it makes any piece look current and trendy but is still timeless) but what’s even better is getting to be the first person to see our NEW designs before they even hit the site! Here are a few of my favorite new arrivals for summer and some tips on how to wear them and pair them for the warm months and beyond.

Searchlight Ring
These rings were made for stacking and that’s just what they’ll do! I always like to add a pop of something unexpected into my stacks – here I kept the gemstones in the same color family, but played with mixing metals. I love how a hint of rose gold adds some interest and it also flatters bronzed summer skin!

Delicate Star Pendant
I am a big statement jewelry person but I’ve been really into just the opposite this summer when it comes to pendants. Sure, a bright bib necklace is fun, but a petite and delicate chain is unexpected and so chic! The “understatement necklace” can be subtly sexy when paired with an off-the-shoulder top, or fun & flirty when layered with other pendants.

And speaking of my love of statement jewelry, one of my favorite new pieces is this bold beauty. It has just enough detail to make it special, but it’s simple enough to really let the gemstone take center stage. Here are a few of my favorite looks, but again, this ring is all about the gemstone and you can’t go wrong – there are over 20 gemstones to choose from, so pick the one that matches your personality and style and get noticed in the best way!
