Honeybabymoon
(This is part of our guest series posts by Amy McLaughlin – celeb stylist and wedding planner)
Whether its pre-baby life or post wedding bliss, either situation calls for a little trip of indulgence (aka baby or honey-moon). While most of you have probably heard of the traditional honeymoon, it’s time to take in another reason to self indulge; the baby-moon. This is the last romantic and relaxing rendezvous before your little one makes his big debut and, according to many highly-respected marriage counselors, it is an essential tool for securing that bond between partners before their worlds get tipped upside down going on vacation never has the meaning again.
It’s no secret that I love a little luxury (or a lot, whose counting?), but when it comes to either of these special occasions; whether it be the arrival of your first born or matrimonial bliss, you deserve to indulge in the best life has to offer before you settle back to reality. From a Caribbean escape to a hideout in the mountains, I’m going to share my favorite get-a-ways to make your post-wedding or pre-baby voyage an unforgettable one!
Viceroy Snowmass Aspen, CO
Whether you want to take advantage of all of the outdoor activities Aspen’s beautiful mountains have to offer or relax in the fabulous Ute-inspired wellness spa, the Viceroy is the perfect combination of relaxation and adventure.
The Modern Honolulu Honolulu, HI
Chic, modern and comfortable is what you can expect from this new hotel sitting on top of one of the most beautiful vistas in the world. Not only will you feel good when you stay here, but since this hotel is also the new home to Iron Chef Morimoto’s restaurant “Morimoto Waikik”, you know you’ll eat good too.
Las Ventanas Al Paraiso San Jose del Cabo, Mexico
If the pool itself doesn’t convince you to escape below the border, Ventanas has plenty of other qualities that will. With large suites, a world class spa and beautiful Mediterranean architecture, this sea side Mexican resort will be the perfect retreat for any occasion.
The White Elephant Nantucket, MA
If the time for your destination falls between the months of June-August, there is no better island on the east coast to escape to. From the “feel like home” coziness to the luxurious ambience, there is nothing you’ll love more than the gorgeous sea-side views and quaint local feeling.
The Montage Laguna Beach Laguna Beach, CAWhether you prefer to take a long drive along the beautiful coast of southern California or sip a wonderful glass of wine (or sparkling water for you momma’s to be) while enjoying a romantic dinner at The Montage Hotel, you can’t really go wrong with either. A place that I like to call my second home, spending a couple days in this little cliff-side town just an hour south of Los Angeles, you’ll find the Montage Hotel has everything and more to offer its guests.
