The Golden Globe for Best Jewelry
People always marvel at the gowns during award season, but our attention falls on another aspect: the jewels! Here are our picks for the best jewelry at last night’s Golden Globe Awards.
1. Kate Beckinsale in Lorraine Schwartz
WHY: Although she may not have won any awards, Kate’s remarkable jewels won her our award for the night’s best jewelry. Her shoulder dusting diamond earrings and three fabulous diamond bracelets made it hard for us to look away. She instantly caught our eye on the red carpet, so we had to give her our number one spot. We think Seth Rogan would agree.
2. Octavia Spencer in Irene Neuwirth
WHY: This was Octavia’s first time at the Golden Globes and she owned it. Lavender is definitely her color and her rainbow moonstone earrings and ring were delightfully unexpected. No “help” needed here!
3. Julianne Moore in Fred Leighton
WHY: Color is always a favorite on the red carpet (and surprisingly so few actresses experiment with it). Luckily, Julianne gave us a beautiful touch of emerald. Her Fred Leighton tassel earrings paired nicely with her black ensemble and they played up her features perfectly (most notably speaking, her red hair). She even had a lust-worthy emerald ring to match!
4. Sofia Vergara in Harry Winston
WHY: Well for starters, her jewels cost $5 million. We think that’s at least worth an honorable mention. Other than that, Sofia is always a top contender on our list. She knows how to put an outfit together and arrives in just the right amount of sparkle. Although her gems were not as show-stopping as her appearance at the 2011 Emmy awards, she looked fabulous and we loved her diamond bracelets and two bold cocktail rings.

January 19, 2012I’m all about color on the red carpet so Juilanne Moore’s earrings are right up my alley. I’m also so happy that Octavia won! She was so sweet and she looked stunning. I can’t believe those earrings are moonstone. That sounds so mysterious.

January 19, 2012I’m loving all the big earrings, bracelets and rings! They can make such an impactful statement… unfortunately they paired them with hideous dresses… I don’t know what designers are thinking, most of the dresses were beyond boring and/or too much “fluffage”.
