We weren’t lying when we said that the holidays are known as engagement season. Over five celebrity couples got engaged this past week and we’ve got the details — namely, the juicy ring details – and how to get the look for less.
John Legend and Chrissy Teigen
John Legend popped the question to his Sports Illustrated model-girlfriend during the Christmas break, but it wasn’t until a New Year’s Eve celebration in Las Vegas that we caught a glimpse of the ring. Teigen proudly showed off her cushion cut diamond on the red carpet at a New Year’s bash at the Palms Casino Resort.
Gemvara’s Reese Ring is similar to Teigen’s style and is available in 1.02 and 1.79 carats.
Steven Tyler and Erin Brady
Third time may be a charm for Steven Tyler. Previously married twice before, Tyler proposed to his long-time girlfriend Erin Brady over the Christmas holiday. Brady was spotted wearing the ring in Maui, Hawaii, but the engagement rumors were just recently confirmed. The ring, designed by celebrity jeweler Loree Rodki, is a 5-carat, brilliant cut set in platinum of a colorless micro pave band.
Gemvara’s Cecilia Ring is a similar style and can be set with a 1.20 or 3.1 carat diamond.
Lebron James and Savannah Brinson
The couple, who has been dating since they were 16, finally got engaged on New Year’s Eve at the SL nightclub at the Shelbourne Hotel in South Beach.
“LeBron rules, on and off the courts! He scored a slam-dunk with this magnificent platinum and diamond engagement ring, featuring a 7-carat pear-shaped center diamond with classic tapered baguette sides,” jewelry expert Michael O’Connor told Us Weekly. “We haven’t really seen this style of ring with a large pear-shaped center diamond since another great love affair: Richard Burton and Elizabeth Taylor!”

February 2, 2012Thanks for the feedback, Marianna! We must have overlooked that detail — so many celebrities got engaged that week it was hard to keep track! We’ve done some more research and as better photos have come out we discovered that it’s cushion cut. Thanks for pointing that out!
