Gemvara's Emmy Predictions

With less than a week until the 63rd Primetime Emmy Awards, it’s about time we start making some predictions! Of course there is a big difference between who will win and who should win – everyone loves their Parks and Recreation, but who can deny Modern Family? However, because we’re fashion and jewelry obsessed we decided to make our predictions based on the people we’d like to see on the stage and, of course, that’s the people with the best style.

Best Drama Series:

We’re not sure how the rest of you feel, but for us this one was a no brainer: Mad Men. These ladies are unstoppable in the world of fashion and jewelry as they have radically changed America’s perception of 1960s style. Always dressed to the nine’s in juicy jewels and figure flattering dresses, we are so excited to see what Christina Hendricks, January Jones and Elisabeth Moss will wear this year. Although we haven’t seen these ladies on screen for almost a year, their irresistible personalities and Mad Men’s intriguing story line have us on the edge of our seats waiting for it to return. In the meantime, we’ll be content with a little Emmy teaser.

Best Comedy Series:

Some of you may have had enough of the New Directions and some say their second season was a bit “off-key.” However, we can’t seem to get the tune out of our heads. That’s right, we picked Glee. At last year’s Emmy’s, Lea Michele was one of the best dressed stars with her stunning statement necklace and gorgeous navy gown. Not to mention, this year Gwyneth Paltrow, the new substitute teacher, will be present and what can we say, we are smitten! Recently she was spotted at the Venice Film Festival wearing a blush-colored gown with chandelier earrings that were simply divine. We can only hope to see something as delicious this coming Sunday. The icing on the cake for the Glee cast is that Jane Lynch will be hosting the awards. Her on-screen style isn’t exactly Emmy-worthy so we’re excited to see what outfits she has in store (will we see a sequin track suit?).

Now it’s your turn! Who do you think will take home the gold in the big categories this year?
