Cameron Diaz: Get the Look

It’s surprising that the actress who once said, “Growing up, I was the plain one. I had no style. I was the tough kid with the comb in the back pocket and the feathered hair” is the same actress who consistently nails it on the red carpet. Cameron Diaz is and has been one of the sexiest screen sirens for the past decade and a half. It would be a difficult task to not look amazing when you’ve got stems like hers, oceanic blue eyes, and a broad, beautifully white smile that would light up the darkest of rooms. Diaz’s jewelry and clothing style are typically eclectic and a fun mix-match of different colors, textures, and layers. Even though her looks can be a bit unpredictable, Cameron has gone through definitive fashion phases over the past 15 years.

The Beginning (1994-1998)
In her early red carpet events, Cameron would typically wear Leopard prints, pleated pants, black boots, and simple jewelry if any at all. Her accessories were her short haircuts, scarves, Matt Damon, and the occasional gemstone studs. At her first red carpet premier for The Mask, Cameron stepped out in a fuchsia kimono-style dress and a simple silver bracelet.

The Middle (1999-2005)
Cameron settled into a more eclectic look with her own unique twist during this fashion era that can be characterized as being fun and playful, just like her. At the Golden Globes in 1999, she wore a Japanese-inspired dress by Chloe with a pearl necklace. In 2000 at the premiere of Charlie’s Angels, Cameron paired a short black mini with pink fishnets, boots, and a charming silver cross pendant. In 2003 Cameron wore a heavenly white mini paired with gold hoop earrings to the Charlie’s Angels: Full Throttle premiere.

Up-to-Date (2006-2010)
Over the past four years Cameron has brought her sense of sophistication to every red carpet event. In 2006, a confident brunette Cameron hit the red carpet for The Holiday in a metallic Zac Posen mini with medium-sized white gold hoops. At the 2008 Oscars, Cameron paired her pink Dior by Galliano gown with diamond flower gemstone earrings and a chunky diamond studded ring with pink gemstones in the middle. At the Shrek Forever premiere she sparkled up a black dress with intricate diamond earrings. She looked like red carpet royalty in a sweeping gold Oscar de la Renta gown at the 2010 Academy Awards, where she wore gold hoop earrings and two diamond rings.

Get Cameron’s Jewelry Look

If you want Cameron’s style, here are your three jewelry must-haves:

1) Feminine but Simple Studs

Match your eyes or your outfit with this classic style that you’ll wear everywhere. (If you have eyes like Cameron’s, definitely match them!) Although plain studs are always lovely, for extra style, try a pair of gemstone studs with a delicate flower frame.

2) A Killer Pair of Hoop Earrings

You can wear these when being chased by paparazzi in the frozen food aisle and also to your next red-carpet premiere.  Yellow gold and diamond hoops would do nicely.  Or add some golden gems if you’re a golden girl too.

3) Fashionable Stack Rings

Make your fingers look long and elegant with a stack of feminine stack rings.  They look ladylike even though they are tomboy-practical.  Mix your favorite metals and gems for an individual style statement like this set of four stacking rings.
